Topic: Beware of reproduction Model B water pumps

I recently received a repop complete water pump from a popular parts supplier. It appears that the dimentions of the casting and impeller and shaft are "off" enough to make this pump nearly impossible to fit and unlikely to pump as much water as the original. As supplied, the impeller significantly blocks the water outlet possibly reducing the flow by more than half. Additionally, to make the impeller fit it would be necessary to remove material from the back bearing surface of the cone shaped impeller. This would not solve the problem however as the impeller from my old pump does not fit the new casting with out blocking the outlet either. If you are having overheating problems after installing one of these pumps on a Model B or possibly A it may be caused by the pump itself. I am currrently working with the supplier to solve this problem to save disappiontment and frustration for future buyers. Please see parts wanted section in classifieds! I need an original WP casting!

Couldn't find anything in parts wanted section. There is no location in your profile. I might have one I could loan you would if that would solve your problem. I might have a damaged one that I would give you for shipping, what do you need?
