I have an early 1932 rear axle assembly which is 4:11 ratio and want to fit a higher speed gearset 3:78 ratio. The driveshaft is welded to the pinion shaft so I assume the weld will need to be machined off and then the new pinion welded on. I have not seen any procedure for this. Can anyone tell me where to look or supply a procedure.
