Topic: 32 Ford Front axle U bolt nuts

I recently found the front axle on my 32 Ford truck is Model A style. I am in the process of acquiring the parts to correct this. Anyone know the original size nut used for the round U bolts? The parts book I have indicates a straight side castle nut. The thread is 1/2-20, X 3/4" wide. One set is 7/16" high and the other set 9/16" high. I also have a 3rd round shoulder castle set. I am curious to know what the original ones were. Thank You

The original nuts were slottted castle nuts, not slotted hex nuts, which were phased in during the 1933 model year. The only slotted hex nuts used on a '32 were low crown versions used on the ball studs for the drag link and tie rod.
