I recently found the front axle on my 32 Ford truck is Model A style. I am in the process of acquiring the parts to correct this. Anyone know the original size nut used for the round U bolts? The parts book I have indicates a straight side castle nut. The thread is 1/2-20, X 3/4" wide. One set is 7/16" high and the other set 9/16" high. I also have a 3rd round shoulder castle set. I am curious to know what the original ones were. Thank You D Kiss

The original nuts were slottted castle nuts, not slotted hex nuts, which were phased in during the 1933 model year. The only slotted hex nuts used on a '32 were low crown versions used on the ball studs for the drag link and tie rod.
