I run water soluble oil. I live in Southern California, where in general do you live?

Propylene glycol (Sierra, StaClean) are more friendly to the environment and less likely to cause bearing damage if it gets into the oil.

Ethylene glycol (Prestone, Zerox) are toxic to most animal life, more likely to cause bearing damage if it gets into the oil.

Ethylene glycol has a better heat transfer than propylene glycol and you need less to to get below zero freeze protection.

Google propylene glycol vs ethylene glycol antifreeze to get more specifics about both products.
