I have cooling problems on my 221. Are the after market pumps effective?

Your's is a loaded question......Are you sure your cooling problem is in fact the water pumps? Are you asking about a 1932 "Correct" engine with the "correct" tall water pumps?? Is it a "later" Flathead??? There "can" be associated problems with the "new" or more modern "updated" water pumps IF your Radiator cannot handle the increased volume of water being moved through it......SO yes they do work, but only IF the rest of your system is equipped and able to handle the change....would be the short answer!!!! IF your engine and radiator are "properly" and thoroughly cleaned, the proper thermostats installed......you should have NO cooling issues with the "stock" set-up!!!
