I have a 52 customline w/fordomatic trans and it also has a leak. Are there any common repairs that I may be able make w/out looking for a trans shop right away? It seems to shift and engage into gears o.k. but it leaks while sitting.

If the Ford-O-Matic has visible leaks anywhere except the pan, it is a job for the pros. The pan gasket can be changed, and the fluid screen cleaned. Be careful to torque the pan bolts to 10-13 ft. lbs only. Anything else is not a DIY project
