I think it also depends on where you are... Most dealers Stateside don't accept American Express

This may or may not be helpful. At one time Walmart had a 6/12V battery maintainer for less than $20 that worked just fine on the Optima battery. A maintainer is NOT a trickle charger. It charges the battery only when needed and you leave it on the battery all the time when the vehicle is not being used. Unfortunately I can't remember the item # for the charger. I've got one in the garage somewhere and if I can find it, I'll post the number here. I had this info in the V-8 TIMES with the part # a few years back but can't remember when.
