the grill bars are chrome and I need to know if the sides of the grille are painted and if so are they painted the same color of the car or flat black

All 3 grills in the Super Deluxe were chrome plated. If you are restoring a 41 Ford, you should consider buying the V-8 Club's 41-48 Book. It has a lot of information about your car. It is available on this site and at the Early Ford V-8 Foundation and Museum. http://www.fordv8foundation.org/ Tom

thanks checked mine and the face of the grill is chrome and the sides are painted may have to remove some paint and see is chrome un der the paint
