That was really fast. Old Henry gave everyone a chance to see it. I should have known with the Internet it would be easy to find. Steve, Congratulations to your young minded father. He is exactly right. It was a 1933 Ford Cabriolet V8. It even sounded right for the correct flathead. At the time the show was filmed it was only a 30 year old car, but straight and complete. Now it's 82 and still beautiful. 1934 Ford's since 1972

Okay, I got one for you guys... Leave it to Beaver. Lumpy had a '40 Ford convertible. What color was it? Yes, I know the show was filmed in black and white. The car was not black nor white.

Had to ask Dad - I'm at best acceptable back to '40, better post-war and become increasingly weaker prior to '40 in identifying exact years so I had to go to my walking encyclopaedia father. Him being both an Andy Griffith fan and an owner of multiple '20's thru '50's Fords & Mercs he answered the question quickly via phone without seeing the video. Have to call him in the morning and give him cudos. Wish he'd kept his '50 and '57 Mercs (latter Turnpike Cruiser sled) Steve

there is no doubt about it. Its a 33 Ford , the hood has one handle and the grill is a 33. I have owned a 1933 Ford for almost 50 years and still own one, Great car then and now. However it looks like the car has 34 hubcaps.

Good eyes 1933, they are 34 hub caps. Having the film to watch again is a great asset. Now I'm wondering if the headlights are also 1934? I tried to see the dash, but no luck. 1934 Ford's since 1972

Kube,the '40 Ford convertible in Leave it To Beaver I think was maroon.I don't think it was the original paint or exact color faded or not but I saw the car once and it was maroon sorta faded looking to purple. This message was edited by 37 Coupe on 3-14-15 @ 4:43 PM

I'm thinking a 51 or 52 F-1. I have a hard time telling these years apart, although I used to drive a 51 F-1 six. Perhaps someone could enlighten me to the difference between years, as well as the differences between 47,48, 49 & 50. This message was edited by Stroker on 3-14-15 @ 1:16 PM
