Hi a Kiwi needs help I have just rebuilt my windscreen on my 39, new glass and Bob Drake rubber seal, now it doesn't want to fit .the body is just a sh*ll so I have the headlining out and the top hinge has lots of adjustment, does any one have the correct way to adjust this hinge so the windscreen seals all the way around. a diagram would help, thanks for your help.

I don't know of a prescribed procedure, but my '38 had a problem. I loosened all the adjustment screws on the roof side so they move freely. Don't overlook the two inside the window opening on each side. I detached the regulator arms and let the frame fall against the opening. When I could tell which side it needed to move to, I propped the windshield open, stood on the side and shook the frame vigorously while pushing/pulling in the needed direction. Trial and error got me in the ballpark, then I reattached the regulator arms and loosely closed the frame to the body. This helps establish the in/out setting for the correct fitment at top. Check gaps on all corners and tighten the accessible screws and check for alignment. When things get as good as can be, go back an make sure all adjustment screws are tight. It might take a couple of tries, but as you watch the adjustments you can tell what you need to do to achieve the needed reaction from the frame.
