What was the original equipment 6 volt, positive ground, battery make and model and cold cranking amps? What make and model 6v battery should I put in the vehicle today?

Unless you plan to show your car, I'd switch to an Optima redtop six volt battery. They provide over 800 cold cranking amps, and hold a charge for months. My '47 sat from September to June, and cranked and started as if it was just run. They are a bit pricey, but well worth it.
