Topic: A plug for the 1941-48 Ford Book

A recent wiring problem caused me to finally bite the bullet and purchase "the book" so long recommended by this forum. Some help with the wiring problem, but the real payoff came when was shocked to discover that my 46's two tone blue cloth interior was not a detriment to any future sale (as I had always assumed) - but is instead exactly pictured on page 37 as one of several CUSTOM interiors originally programed for late 46 early 1947 cars, that were so popular they were carried over to 1948!! Yes! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am sooooooo happy.

Sounds like you have a real gem. Whenever someone ask's questions about '41 thru '48 Fords I always recommend purchasing the book from the V-8 Club. Sometimes I just flip thru it and there is always something to learn.

Our club books were created by very dedicated volunteers. It's amazing how all of these people have donated their time and effort to produce some of the finest Ford books in the hobby. Thanks for the praise on the book. I'm sure it's appreciated by those who made it happen.

It really does blow my mind that fellows will spend tens of thousands of dollars purchasing a vintage Ford V-8 automobile but will not purchase the reference materials for their year and model. Glad you have seen the light. The club books are the superlative reference works for these vehicles.

One thing I neglected to mention in my first statement, is that even though you don't own a particular year of Ford car, you can purchase the other "guide books" offered by the V-8 Club, to learn about other years. All of them are a wealth of information.

  Murphy,

They are talking about the 41-48 Ford Book, available from the Early Ford V-8 Club on this site. There is an excellent one covering the 35-36 Ford as well.

Go to the home page and click on Shop under Online Store, then click on Ford Books. You will see them all listed. They are well worth the cost.

Ken
