I am looking to buy NOS or repro` door sill alloy plates for the 49 Merc Conv. There is a repro guy in USA but I can`t locate him? Also, the original interior trim colors & patterns please. I will be at Tahoe GN June. Sincerely, Peter Hibbert. Cell 0419 800 122.

Peter; The company I think you are thinking about is called Doorsills. They make door sills for all makes of vehicles. They are at 81 Graham Avenue, North Haledon, New Jersey 07508 Phone 973-423-1196 In catalog Number Vol 11, they list 49-51 Mercury 2dr conv sills for $240. Good luck -- I have seen their display at Hershey and they make good stuff.
