I was wondering if someone can explain to me which 46-48 models use an aluminum running board versus the steel one. I have an aluminum on my recently purchased 48, but all the information I see on running boards suggest that the running boards are steel. Thanks. Bob

According to the 41 to 48 Ford book, aluminum running boards were used after 1/26/48 on all body styles except the convertibles and station wagons. You will have to determine from your engine/frame serial number whether your car might have been assembled after January 1948.
