Does anyone know the trick to remove the ignition switch and lock cylinder on a 1964 Fairlane?? Thanks Guys! TIM CARLIG

Tim, in the front of your cylinder you will see a small hole next to the key slot. Turn the switch over to the accessory position and then insert a wire or paper clip into the hole. As you push inward with the wire turn the key past the accessory position and it should pop out.

Dean, I recently had this same problem on a 1963 Fairlane with only 30,000 original miles which I bought with no keys. I removed one of the front door upholstery panels, removed the door lock cylinder from the door,and had my key shop make a key to fit that cylinder. The key is the same code as the ignition switch. It worked for me! Good luck, Tom
