anyone know of a hold down bracket for a 6-V optima in a flathead. or have designed one? like the one for a model A but without the offset tabs. i have a '36 ford with a dropped tray to lower the optima and would like to use the original "Y" shape hold down bolts. here's a link to a pic of the model A bracket. part no. A5166OP [letter O] http://www.mikes-afordable.com/miva/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=A5166OP&Category_Code=1040

I have an Optima in a 35 with a dropped tray. 1/4-20 Nuts were welded to the tray, on both sides of the Optima and I use 1/4-20 all thread rod on both of the long sides of the optima, to the welded nuts, then use a short piece of U-channel across the top of the battery as a hold down. The U-channel is secured with 1/4-20 nuts and lock washers, to the all thread. The tray uses the holes for the original Y bolts to secure the tray so it does not move left, right and jump up with bumps.
