Just purchased a new "Drake" trunk seal. There were no instructions when received and I called Drakes and they had no "no one with expertise on how to install", which I found interesting. Therefore, I'm looking for guidance on proper install. I purchased part #78-713540, page 422 (photo)of Drake's latest catalog. My obvious question is what side sits flat in the channel bottom and does that flap (extra piece on the top-left side in photo go over a side of the channel or remain inside the channel??? Appreciate any info.

The fat part of the seal goes in the channel and the flap hangs over the side. Just put glue on the flap, this gives a better seal. Here is a link to Dennis Carpenter's catalog with a drawing of how the seal goes in. http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~dyndetail~Z5Z5Z50000024q~Z5Z5Z545511~P25.00~~~~S3K110XJ5S71143210250H~Z5Z5Z5~Z5Z5Z50000024Q# Tom
