Howdy, Boys: I have Ford script whitewalls on my '39. I want black. I intend to turn the tires on the rims so that the black side is out. But, I want to blacken the whitewalls just the same when I turn them. I did some cyber-space research and some have suggested simply using black shoe dye, suggesting it works as good as any tire black and is much cheaper. Any comments from those with actual experience? Thanks to all. Much obliged, Mike There are more "barn finds" than barns.

No personal experience but here's a black tire paint that purports to cover white walls and has good reviews. Check it out. http://www.millertire.com/products/tire-supplies/paint/1-gal-black-tire-paint/ Old Henry (The older I get, the better old looks.)
