If the garage is dry, and you have placed oil in the cylinders then turned it over, it is better not to turn it further, as there is no oil pressure to lube the bearings. Always completely seal any openings so varmints can't enter and make nests. If you cover the engine, don't use plastic, as it will allow moisture to accumulate. Some prefer to spray the exterior with a moisture dispersant such as WD40. It doesn't hurt, but can attract dirt. We have stored engines for year by following these tips.
