Hello boys, On my '40 convertible restoration, I'm at he point of putting on the window seals. The wind shield post seal has me baffled. I bought Drakes' seals and at the bottom of the seal is a large blubbed step piece that just doesn't seem to fit correctly. I think the large area is to fill in the gap at the bottom of the wind shield post, but it seems to interfere with the door closing. Also, were the wind shield post seals attached using the stainless steel channel as with the side window seals use or were they merely glued? If someone has pic's that would be great. The pic's I can find are vague and inconclusive. Thanks, Dennis

There is a stainless strip similar to the one above the side window(s). The rubber fits within that strip. I am not certain what Drake sent you. Without seeing it, it remains difficult to say whether or not it is correct. The rubber is cut an an angle to match the horizontal piece at the top. All of that rubber in this area has a felt covering on it as well. The picture attached may help. It is the best I have available at the moment.
