HELP!!! I own a Ford V8 1934, chassis nº 40-18-900851, sold in Portugal on July 1934, as a passenger car but body modified into a van during the II world war. Now i am trying to restore the original model, but could'nt find the plate with body type code, in order to know the correct model (2 door/4 door /3,5 windows?/roadster?). With your experience, how can you help me to identifie the original body type, according to this chassis nº? Best regards

The chassis number is only a sequential production number. The number will not identify the body type. You may find a body plate on the firewall or on the crossbrace inside the car just in front of the front seat. Usually these body tags will give the body style.
