Ran across a strange looking top load 3 speed attached to a G-series 6 Cylinder. Can anyone tell me what it is out of?

that is the open drive shaft trans out of a 3/4 ton truck with a six cylinder engine. the gears are probably 29 tooth cluster and are quite low. The rear mount is what really makes it out of the 3/4 ton, if you had the rear axle it is what the dirt track guys used in their cars.

Would the 1/2 ton pickup have the same type of transmission? or were there two types for the G-series engine?
