My father and I are considering purchasing a 51 sedan. However, we are not very well-versed in them. I've been learning a lot from your forum so far, but would still feel better if I knew somewhere to take it for an inspection. Does anyone know of a shop in the Houston area that we could take it to for a once-over? I know for a 60 yr old car, it would have to be a very specific shop, and we don't know anyone. If you are a Club member, look up fellow members in the area from the Roster for suggestions regarding a shop that actually has flathead experience. Very few such places have even see these cars, let alone know how to inspect them. Seeking some experienced advice before purchasing is a very good approach. Be wary of any claims of rebuilding, etc, unless the seller can produce receipts confirming the work.
