Stanley- I have never used this tool but Brattons (the Model A folks), have a steering wheel puller for Model As that looks like it could also work on early V8s. If you get a chance look at item number #05705. Web site is: http://www.brattons.com. Tom

Then I put that small piece of flat stock between the nut and the puller screw before I torque the screw down. If you don't do this you could damage the treads on the shaft. Some of the wheels I have removed with this puller were very very tight on the tapered fit up. I would never had gotten them off with out some type of puller. The KRW SW puller is a very good puller but I like to make/build tools to work on my old Fords whenever possible. This message was edited by JM on 11-16-10 @ 7:28 AM

Mittie, I just happened to check in here and read this old post that's now 10 years old. I still have this puller and have detailed pictures of it disassembled, but not sure those pics have detailed measurements or specifications on each piece. Where are you located? John

Mittie, I live in Maryland and was hoping you might live closer to me. I've loaned this puller to other members of our regional group and even mailed it to someone once to pull their steering wheel, but with our mailing situation today, I don't think I would do that again. If you are a member of an EFV8 Club regional group, you might want to check with other members to see if they could help you with a puller that they own or have access to. John

Thanks John. Another member advised of having my son (6 ft 7 ) muscle builder to rock the wheel while I hit the shaft to loosen it. I’ll try that first. He could probably just pull it off .
