afew months ago there was a discussion about right side cast iron exhaust manifolds for duals-some sort of "factory" style. could someone tell me the man's name that produces these?

There was a discussion some time ago about the left side cast iron exhaust manifold that was originally made for Ford by Douglass manufacturing, for the police engines in the '49 to '53 Fords, that converted them to dual exhaust. This manifold is currently being re-produced by Pat Rooney in Ohio.

Pat Rooney is no longer producing these. Does anyone know where one of these manifolds might be available?

If you can't find the Ford driver's side exhaust manifold, you might want to consider using a set of Fenton Cast Iron Headers. Speedway Motors offers these headers. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Fenton-Ford-Flathead-V8-Cast-Iron-Headers-w-Gaskets,1726.html

I do have a set of Fenton headers on the car now with Brockman Mellow Tones. I just never cared for how low the exhaust sits underneath the car with this setup. Plan is to purchase a Waldron dual exhaust system which they can make for either a front exit LS manifold or rear exit. The rear exit looks better and is more efficient.

Attached below are three photos of a driver's side dual exhaust manifold made many years ago to fit 1949, 1950 and 1951 Fords. Information on the internet confirms that some of these were definitely produced by Douglass. There are apparently versions which have the word "Alhambra" on the casting. Ours says "Los Angeles California". Does anyone know if it is one of the conversion manifolds made by Douglass? If not a Douglass product, who would the manufacturer have been? Perhaps Almquist? Or maybe Newhouse? .

I have recently acquired one with the letters ASP in the left underside of the casting and no other markings. Curious about its origins as well. Russ H This message was edited by rbh3rd on 11-25-25 @ 3:42 PM
