shift collar needed for a 1953 Ford Sunliner Convertible with automatic transmission. The shift collar is what has the pointer to the gear(P,R,N,D,L) which is plastic attached to the shifter. It is a round ring with a pointer attached to it and usually made of pot metal. My pointer broke off. And someone tried too fix it before but didn't hold and broke again. Did anyone experience this problem? Vendors like Dennis Carpenter & Early Ford Sales do sell the plastic with letters but not the ring with pointer attached to it which slips over the shifter shaft.
