My grandson recently acquired a 1949 ford that had an engine swap. From research that I've done it looks like a more current model flathead V8 was installed. The previous owner purchased a replacement fuel pump but it is the incorrect one. The fuel pump doesn't fit the Fuel pump tower. It is too small and leaves an opening between the tower and the fuel pump. I ordered a fuel pump that I believed was the correct part but it was received with a broken cup at the end of the pump shaft. I'm hoping someone can recommend a vender that can supply a reliable replacement. The original pump has a broken arm. I've considered a rebuild kit but I was concerned that the casting may be damaged from the peening of the pivot pin at the casting. Are there any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

A '49 Ford came from the factory with an 8ba flathead V8 so not sure what you mean by a more current model flathead V8. Regarding a fuel pump , Carpenter, C&G, and many other vendors should have a pump. Unless you have a 337 flathead out of a Lincoln or big truck but doubtful. ______________ No signature

Thank you for the reply and the sources for the fuel pump.. I thought the 8BA came out in 1950-53.

'49 to '53 for cars and '48 for trucks in the US. In Canada it was still the flathead in '54. ______________ No signature
