Should the tail light bezel retaining screw on a '39 passenger car be slotted or Phillips head? The Dennis Carpenter reproduction shows a Phillips head, but I have my doubts. TIA Russ H Southeast PA This message was edited by russonator on 5-6-26 @ 5:06 AM

There were ZERO Phillips head screws on a '39 Ford. Oval head slotted is what you are in need of. The authentic screw had a shoulder so it could not be drawn down too far. Mike "Kube" Kubarth

Much obliged, Mike, thank you. The absence of other Phillips head screws on the car is what gave rise to my doubts in the first place.

I am not 100% certain but don't believe Phillips screws showed up on a Ford until '46. Perhaps '42? Positively not through 1941. Mike "Kube" Kubarth

1946 is correct for Phillip screws.
