First, I'm a new member, just bought a stock restored '51. Question - the speedometer was not working, previous owner installed a new cable. The old gear that fits in the transmission was worn so he got a new gear also. The problem / question is, the old gear snapped into the coned shaped cable end but the new one just slides in and out. What holds it in place? Thanks
