I have a 1947 Mercury I am restoring. It is a one family all original car. I have one part not sure what it is. I have attached a picture of the part if anyone can help me. Thanks

This probably would be behind the dash board. The small resister at right side of photo looks like it could be the ignition system resistor and the larger ventilated enclosed device probably the headlight system circuit breaker (?).

Yes, it is the circuit breaker and is located on the inside firewall (drivers' side) almost at the top. The smaller resistor is for the coil. The connections should have a letter on each terminal. B for battery, H for headlight, A covers the rest of the lighting system. This message was edited by 1942deluxe on 12-29-25 @ 8:48 AM

Looks very similar to the one I removed from my '39 p/u when I rewired it to 12 volts. Sent the it to Kube since it was no use to me. ______________ No signature
