I am restoring a five window coupe. When I removed the trunk lid, there was a fiber pad between the trunk hinge mounting surface and the underside of the trunk lid. Is there a part number for this or did the previous restorer put this fiber pad in? Thanks in advance for the replies.

To the best of my knowledge, this fiber pad you are referring to was an owner-installed item. If you need a seal for the coupe trunk lid, one is listed as being available from C&G. https://cgfordparts.com/trunk-lid-seal-37-48-convertible-coupe-37-40-sedan-78-713540.html

My 48 convertible had some kind of thin material between hinge & trunk. Nothing in any of ford parts books or Available from vendors. I used a thin piece of cork or gasket material will work, not really that noticeable.

As Flathead48 said not listed in the parts books. I think if present it was a anti squeak type material which I've seen in various other locations thru out the body.
