Iwas wondering if it is necesary to change Transmission fluid and rear axle fluids in my car? If so what type do you recommend?

It is good to change the oils in the transmission and rear axle every 10,000 miles or so.

For the transmission you can use a GL-4 Gear Oil of SAE 90 weight. If you can't find a GL-4 Gear Oil, you can use NAPA GL-1 Gear Oil SAE 90 weight or Pennzoil Synchromesh Manual Transmission Fluid GL-3.

For the rear axle you should use a GL-5 Extreme Pressure Gear Oil of SAE 90 weight.

Do not use GL-5 oil in the synchromesh transmission as the sulphur in it will attack the copper, brass or bronze parts in the transmission.
