Recently obtained an original type 1935 to 1938 brake light switch which is to be used on a project that I am putting together. I have several questions: How was the switch originally mounted in relation to the brake pedal? Are there any drawings or pictures that show the brake light switch location relative to the pedal? In its static position (off the car) with the shaft extended the switch provides a closed circuit. Is this correct? Please advise. Thank you for any help you can provide.

The stop light switch is bolted to the brake and clutch pedal bracket with two fine thread bolts flat washers and lock washers. The brake pedal depresses the rod on the switch

Carcrazy, my son and i replaced the brake light on my '37 prob. 2 yrs ago. i think you will find a small boss casted on edge of brake arm where the metal rod in the brake switch contacts. Tom.

Same, do you have an illustration of the brake pedal arm that shows where the tab is located? My hydraulic brake and clutch pedal assembly is an aftermarket unit so I will have to provide the tab to contact the rod on the switch.
