Topic: 39 glovebox lock

I am in need of a glovebox lock cylinder, the car only came with a ignition key when I bought it and the previous owner for some reason decided it was a good idea to put glue in the lock and grind it down. I would like to have the glovebox and trunk lock have the same key. 1939 deluxe 2 door sedan.
I have a few questions
1. Is it difficult to change the trunk lock cylinder?
2. Are mercury glovebox and trunk locks the same as fords?
3. Could a locksmith be able key a glovebox lock without having a key for the trunk.
If these are dumb questions it’s just because I’m new to these cars, sorry.

Here is a Trunk Lid Lock offered by Dennis Carpenter. You can possibly purchase one of these and have a locksmith copy the key to this lock and rekey your glove box lock to match.

When Ford made the car the ignition key also worked the door. The glove box key also worked the trunk. It is not difficult to change the trunk cylinder if you have a key. Insert key and turn slightly and depress the retaining pin through the small hole just above the cylinder. When the key is in the correct position the retaining pin will depress and the key can be used to retract the cylinder. Moving key will also extend the retaining pin.
There are a couple of men on fordbarn.com that do good work on locks. Phil is one. He may have another glove box cylinder and can rekey cylinders alike.
