Would a '38 radio bolt right into a '39, or maybe fit with some minor modifications?

According to the club's 1938-1939 book, the 38 radio was one piece while the 39 radio was a 2 piece unit, with a control head/speaker and a radio unit. The control heads were different so the dash would have to be modified to fit the 38 radio.
