Topic: What secures this dash trim in my '48 Merc?

Although I suspect that it may have originally been fixed with upholstery cloth, How is the long decorative stainless strip fixed (in between windshield garnish mold & dashboard) in my '48 Merc 114X Coupe?

  Hi,
planet clicker
From what I see in your pictures, that steel strip appears to be held in place by small screws or clips. It's likely held in place by trim screws that go through pre-drilled holes in the panel, although some vehicles also use friction clips to hold it in place.

No screws or clips, mine is held in by the fabric strip and compression by the interior windshield moldings.
