Anyone heard of Ford installing 3.1875 pistons in early 1935 21 stud non LB engines destined for the Canadian market? Taken my early 35 engine apart because of an issue.. Found the piston size to be 3.1875 rather the 3.0625 I had expected. Local (Canadian) old engine builder said he recollected that Ford experimented putting the larger pistons in 21 stud block to do a test run in a smaller market (Canada) to see the results. Contemplating rebuilding my engine as it believed to be original to my car. Thanks for any input.
