1946-48 Woodies: my understanding is Ford had 16" wheels/tires vs Mercury 15" wheels/tires. Were there two different sized spare tire covers produced for each, or a just a single tire cover and ring that accommodates both sizes?

For the 41-48 Mercury, the inner ring (P/N29A1350) is the same for the 15" and 16" tires. There are 2 outer rings. P/N 9108 1351 for 6.50 x 16 tires and P/N 29A 1351 for the 6.50 x15" tire. The center plate differs by year, because it has the emblem on it. Ford used the same P/N for the 6.50 x 16 tires and used P/N 48-1351-A for the outer ring on the 6.00x16" tire. Tom
