Topic: horn light switch

I removed the horn light switch to change the steering box on my 36 ford. Now the headlights won't work. Does anyone know how to tell if the switch fork spring thing is in correctly? Thanks...

Operate the light switch from the drivers seat. Is the V8 embossed on the horn button vertical when the light switch is in the off position? The switch should operate the parking lights with only one position with clock wise rotation. Rotate 2 positions CCW for headlights and the third position CCW is country beam. Have all 4 positions and with the V8 vertical when off the all the lights off then the fork for the light switch is correct. Operation details are in the glove box operators manual.
Assembly is the heavy spring first then the fork and lastly the small C clip.

Have you checked to make sure you have power to the switch plate? You can check the terminals with a simple test light. Sometimes when you take the switch apart the main feed terminal can come loose.

Is the off position straight up and down?
