Why are some 2 prong and others 3 prong? How can I test them with a test light to see if they are good?? Please show me a diagram; or explicate instructions like; step 1. step 2 etc.I have a vague idea of how; but want to verify my thinking. {Tom; Ithink you are the "Go to guy" for this;} Others may know too; and I have no intention of making them think that I wouldn't like their input also!! Regards, Steve Lee

Google's answer is: The 3 Terminal (or prong, sometimes called) flasher operates similarly to the 2 Terminal flasher. It is merely a collection of connections that, when closed, illuminate a single dashboard indication lighting. It performs the same function as before but with an additional terminal denoted by the letter 'P.
