48 engine in a 40 coupe. Had car about 5+ years. Has never charged in the Green. Had car rewired last Fall with original style harnesses. Over a period of about 6 months the voltage (while still running great) would gradually decrease to a point where it was sluggish to drive. Had the gen rebuilt by a reputable shop ( says putting out 7+ volts and 30 amps). Same thing, I show .2 VDC at Batt terminal on the regulator. Car starts, seems to maintain 6+ volts at the battery and all other gauges work. Suggestions?? Paul in CT It has been suggested to convert to an alternator thus by-passing the charging circuit.
