Topic: '36 - Dashboard Switch Identification

  Hello All,
#2 in the attached picture is the cigarette lighter. That much I know!
#1 is a power on/power off switch that is toggled by pulling out and pushing in. I'm not sure what it ever controlled, and I can't trace the wires because they were removed long ago. Does anyone have a '36 dash in the same configuration? If so, what does this switch control?

Thank You!
John

  Dash lights.

Yes, it controls the dash lights. However, very few of those switches actually work. I took mine apart, carefully, cleaned it. It worked a few times. I bought a new, old, expensive one that worked a few times, til it quit.

Your wires were cut and wired together to make the dash lights work.

Yes, I did the same thing as Steve, took mine apart and tried to repair it. Switch worked some what, but flickered on and off. I connected the wires together under the dash. Driving after dark, theres no need to be turning dash lights off anyway.
