Hi. Does anyone know what the numbers mean on the cylinder of the shock ? These are Apple Hydraulic rebuilds from my 1937 Tudor 85 horsepower Model 78. Are they identical function wise despite these number differences? I thank you for any advice.

Those marks likely have more to do with when the casting were made for the shocks than distinguishing their function (apart from one being for the left rear and the other for the right rear).

37 shocks do not have the spring loaded oil seal. Your shocks do. For judging they would not be correct. Although they may work fine on your car.
