Thank you for posting this, 37RAGTOPMAN. Do you know if Standard is marketing a condenser to fit the 1936 Ford distributor?

37rag, These have been available for decades. NAPA has had them at least since the 1970's. In the recent past, say the past few years or so, the quality is "hit or miss", no pun intended. Either ya get a good one or you don't. Mike "Kube" Kubarth

Thanks for your input, Mike. The reason I asked specifically about the Standard brand of condenser is exactly what you said ............ problems previously experienced with other new condensers (not just NAPA). So .......... does anyone know if Standard is now selling a condenser for the 1936-style distributor? I think that 1934 and 1935 are the same (i.e. 40B).

I heard you have to solder the strap from a original cond to the NAPA IH 200 plus file a flat spot on the brass post to make it fit,and do not know what you have to do to make the IH 200 work and not really a fan of NAPA, esp anything electrical, except the special fan belt, that is ok, I rented a shop under a NAPA auto parts, and learned to stay away from certain parts, hope this helps, 37 Ragtopman like any new part some will work and there is always a chance of a defective part,

Grant I think they make a 32 36 condensors, you will have to check with your Standard parts dealer, I got mine on E-BAY, The FD 64 is for 37 -41, So MAYBE FD 63 is for 32-36 ? or similar part numbers, 33-36 a flat top coil and then they has a domed coil with took 2 different condensors, just wanted to pass the information on for fellow V8 MEMBERS, hope this helps, 37Ragtopman, Maine also STANDARD PARTS #S FD 6770 for the ignition points, This message was edited by 37RAGTOPMAN on 6-2-22 @ 6:00 AM
