Found a 6-volt, non-polarity LED that will fit in my '40 instrument cluster. Problem is little depth available in the cluster, requires a snub-nose LED. Not sure if same problem occurs with other years. This short LED worked: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JLLKXRD/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 Edit: it appears to be dimmable, so far seems to work ok dimmed down.
