If you are going to be showing your car on the EFV-8 Clubs Concourse division, have Skip Haney rebuild your water pumps.

If your car is going to be in the Touring Class, Speedway Motors, Bob Drake and Dennis Carpenter all offer Chinese pumps with sealed bearings that seem to work well. I have a set of Dennis Carpenter's and a set of Speedways and I like the finish on the Speedway Motors pumps better. They are 20 years old, so the finish may have changed to the rough castings like the DC pumps have. I have not seen Bob Drakes pumps in person.

If you intend to rebuild the pumps your self (not recommended), Third Gen Auto has the best kits.

I have used Fryer's water pumps with great success. He advertises in the V-8 Times and guarantees his work. I've used his pumps since the mid 90's when has dad had the business.

When I had the narrow belt Merc only pumps rebuilt for the 8ba in my '39 p/u I considered Fryer's since he is in my home town. Price was similar to Skip but Skip's turn around time was much quicker. Given the time constraints I ended up going with Skip. This was a while ago so I don't know if the situation has changed.
