Hi all, found this on The H A M B & thought it is a very interesting Early V8.

The sparkplug wires look like 1950's vintage with the molded right angles.

For those who have never seen a water pump blockoff plate, look at this one. They are genuine Ford parts to be used on 21 stud short block replacements for earlier engines.

  Alan,

Those flat block-off plates are quite different than the cast versions with the recesses in the face usually encountered; almost as if they were made locally rather than purchased from Ford.

I have a friend here in town with an original 36 two door hump back. He purchased it from the original woman owner many years ago. Apparently the engine was replaced at one time, because it has the block off plates like the ones that 3w2 mentions, with the recesses. The wiring and everything else is the same as stock 36. I used to think that perhaps it was a very late engine because his car has the woodgrain dash etc., but I was wrong.

We’ll, I guess I’m the one who has never seen the genie ford block off plates! Never stop learning!
