I have a 1938 Ford deluxe (4 door) I recently purchased some after market hood hinges because one of my originals broke. Installed the drive's side and the hood rides high away from the cowl. Any insight or experience with after market hinges? Any help would be appreciated, nice weather is coming.

Hinges are adjustable. I know this may sound strange, but loosen up that hinge on the driver's side and push upward at the front part of the hinge. The holes at the front are slightly slotted for adjustment. Do this in small increments and tighten the hinge. Continue with this method until the hood sits where it meets the cowl on the rubber cowl seal. I'm assuming the seal is on the cowl. If not it needs to have one to make the adjustment correct.
