Hello, new to this group and hope someone might have experience with the 49 ford convertible. I removed trans and brace to repair/ troubleshoot overdrive. After fixing those problems, I’m trying to reinstall trans and cross memeber. I cant get it back in! Is there a trick or obvious oversight Im not seeing? I can’t seem to find any info on this process for the convertible, which has a x frame. I removed carpet and tunnel access panel. By my measurements, there’s no way to install trans from inside car. I got them out, why won’t they go back in!?
