Topic: Converting '34 horn to 12V

Does anyone know if I can replace the 6V Sparton horn motors in my '34 horns with later model 12V motors? For example, will the guts from a '62 Ford Fairlane (or some other 12V car) be adapted into a '34 horn so that they still look like '34 horns? That would be a slick way to switch to newer 12V negative ground horns. What do they use for the motors in the reproduction 12V '34 horns that Mac's and C.W. Moss sell?

did you try to use a voltage reducer 12 v to 6 volt ? to see if that works ?
might be the easier way to go.
hope this helps, 37 Ragtopman

I didn't do anything to the horns in my '34 roadster when I converted to 12 volts/negative ground over 20 years ago. The only problem is that they are really loud. I seldom use them but when I do I just tap the horn button for an instant.
